There is not a good way to t-shoot hard locks. They are usually going to
be hardware or at least a low level driver. I would check device manger
for any problem devices. I would also check the system event log for any
critical errors. The errors may not occur when the system locks but some
other time. So try to elimiate any critical errors. Also pay specical
attention to any utility type software like antivirus that is installed.
