Computer Listing in Computer Management Console

We have several Windows 2000 or XP Pro users sharing files on a server
running Windows 2000 Pro. When I look at the current sessions in the
server's CMC, some of the user's computers are listed by the computer
name and some by the IP address. Why aren't all listed by the computer
name?
