I was using Windows XP professional edition and tried to install vista home
premium. After installation, the computer keeps restarting instantly. Right
after the POST the computer would restart again.

1.5 Gig RAM
3.2 Pentium D 940
Nvidia 7600 gt
200gb HD

Hi,

So it doesn't even begin to load the bootloader?
Are you able to boot to the Vista disk?

How did you try and install it?
Was it an upgrade, full install, did you boot from the DVD.
You have to tell people what you did to get help??????

Hi Robert,

You cannot upgrade Windows XP Pro to Vista Home Premium using upgrade media
directly. You need to perform a clean install. Refer to my post 'Clean
Install
Windows Vista Using Upgrade Media', also in this newsgroup, for detailed
instructions on how to do this.
