I was simply restarting my compie for something, I think it was because
it was being tiffy. Anyway, it began starting up and did the Win XP
screen, with the little blue bar running across the screen. It would go
half way across the bar, then freeze, then keep going, then it'd do that
for about 2 minutes. Finally, it'd flash a BSOD it was far too quick for
me to see anything besides that notable flash of blue.

Anywho.. so it won't start, so I try the automatic next thing, going to
Safe Mode. Anywho, it freezes at mob.sys, and stays there for about 5-10
minutes, then finally comes up with the message;

'An I/O operation initiated by the Registry failed unrecoverably. The
Registry could not read in, write out, or flush, one of the files that
contain the system's image of the Registry.'

Normally, I'd just be like, 'Cool, let's just restart the whole damn
thing.' BUT, I really do NOT want to lose the precious information on
this RAID 0 array. I'd rather leave it alone and never use it then to
restart it and lose everything. Let me reiterate, I will absolutely NOT
restart this harddrive and will do anything to recover the information
on it.

What do you suggest?
Preferably to save the information on my harddrive?

Uhm.. hmm.. how is that going to help me? I already know how to do
that... it won't start any way I try to.

a repair install should not lose your data; if the drive itself is damaged
you might be in a bad spot though.

If you feel that the cause is a physical problem, do not restart the
computer. Contact a data recovery specialist. I like Drive Savers
(www.drivesavers.com), but there are others. Data recovery firms'
services are not inexpensive, but only you can determine the value of
your data.

If you feel that the cause may just be with Windows and therefore there
is no danger in starting the computer, try booting with Knoppix to get
the data off. Here is information about Knoppix:

Knoppix is a Linux distro on a live cd. You will need a computer with
two cd drives, one of which is a cd/dvd-rw OR a usb thumb drive with
enough capacity to hold your data. To get Knoppix, you need a computer
with a fast Internet connection and third-party burning software.
Download the Knoppix .iso from www.knoppix.net and create your bootable
cd. Then boot with it and it will be able to see the Windows files. If
you are using the usb thumb drive, right-click on its icon (on the
Desktop) to get its properties and uncheck the box that says "Read
Only". Then click on it to open it. Note that the default mouse action
in the window manager used by Knoppix (KDE) is a single click to open
instead of the traditional MS Windows' double-click. Otherwise, use the
K3b burning program to burn the files to cd/dvd-r's.

I second Malke's advice. You should call a data recovery specialist before
going any further. As you used RAID 0 it will be very complicated to recover
any data yourself.
