All of my programs seem to be going inactive while typing. HELP please I am
a transcriptionist and I cannot continue to click the stupid mouse to
reactivate the Word while I'm typing reports.

Are you just losing focus on your Word document ?? Wouldn't think you'd
need to "reactivate the Word"

Download TweakUI from Microsoft. Run the program and click on General ->
Focus in the left window. Check "Prevent applications from stealing focus"
in the right window. OK to exit.

See if that helps.

I went to the download section and it says that XP Home Edition does not
support the TweakUI program. I don't want to make it worse. What does lose
focus mean? These freezes happen in all programs not just Office 2003
programs.

Thank you for the link. I downloaded the program and made the adjustment
that Gordon suggested. It did not fix the problem. Still going inactive.
Any other suggestions? I'm thinking this is another one of those Microsoft
update issues but Microsoft won't help without charging me.
