I was installing a CD sent to me by Microsoft that was to
update all the security patches from the beginning (dated
February 2004). Heard about it on the Kim Commando show.
During the installation, the CD said it would archive my
current XP and then reinstall the files. Right in the
middle of the reinstallation, my computer froze. I could
do nothing and knew no one to call. Even Ctrl+Alt+Delete
wouldn't do anything. Unplugged the computer. Then when
tried to restart, computer was haywire. I put in my
Operating System CD and booted from it but when I was
prompted to repair nothing worked and I was asked for an
Administrator's password (which I didn't have). When I
bought the computer, Windows XP was already loaded on it.
I have a Gateway 500SE. So I probably did the wrong
thing...I installed another Windows XP onto the same
partition. Now I don't what to do. Can somebody help me?
I'd be so grateful. Barb Mullen
