Hello, I cant understand why but in the last few weeks my computer will be
running fine, goes thru start up ok, connects to internet fine, then all of a
sudden for no reason it just freezes. I get no error messages I just get a
frozen screen and no matter what button combination I press it wont
un-freeze. I am at the end of my rope as I then have to switch the power off
manually to get it to work.

PLEASE SOMONE HELP ME IF YOU CAN

Sounds like possible hardware failure.
Get the hard drive diagnostic utilities from the hard drive manufacturer.
Test your memory.

Go through and update all of your hardware drivers from each different
hardware manufacturer web page.
Scan for spyware/adware.
Scan for viruses/trojans.
Uninstall unneeded software.
Backup your important data.
CHKDSK.
DEFRAG.

Microsoft locks up the computer waiting for a password. Iused the three
finger salute to bring up the window (Cntrl,Alt,Delete) It turns out there
is no password so pressing return closes the darn thing. I have set up my
own password and then changed it to no pw. Go to cntrl pnl, user accounts
Select acct name andclick on Creat a Password. Remove pw later if desired.
PS this did not stop the ugly hangup especially trying to come out of
hibernation Let me know if this helps

Try spysweeper. It doesn´t have to be a virus, it could be spyware.
