I started to play guildwars again and when I login and select my character
my screen either freezes or my system automatically reboots for no reason I
have tried everything I uninstalled the game and video card drivers and
reinstalled them back and still does not work right. If you can help me with
issue I will be very happy I am running a custom built PC with 3.0GHz 512Ram
Radeon 9600 128mb GFX card.

Hi SNOWFOX,

Hardware issues can cause freezing, black screens and other
errors. Also, your drivers should always be kept up to date.

Try the following steps one at a time to try and resolve the issue.
I hope this helps. Please post back if you have any questions! :-)

1. Update DirectX and your Chipset, Sound, &Video Drivers:
For all Video / DirectX / Game and Hardware Issues, I have a
Checklist of Solutions at: http://NibblesNbitsVideo.tk

2. Dust your fans, vents and components using a 1/4" paintbrush
and a hose vacuum. Use compressed air for hard to reach places.
Set a housefan to blow cold air into your case to expose an over-
heating issue.. If it works add more fans or replace defective ones.
Use this Motherboard Monitor Utility: http://mbm.livewiredev.com

3. A faulty power supply can cause STOP errors, random reboots,
and black screen lockups. One way to test for that is to check the
wattage sticker on your power supply and then calculate your need
http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/ (Min. 350 for gaming)

4. Test your RAM using: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

I have done all this and it fixed the part where my Graphics freeze but my
computer still reboots by itself by just playing this game.

You need to uncheck the reboot-option.
1) Right-click on "my computer", choose "properties".

2)On the "advanced"-tab, go to system-reset (I think it's called. I'm
not using english-xp) at the bottom of that tab.

3) Choose "settings" and on the next tab uncheck the option "restart
automatically"

This way at least you will get the famous blue-screen or (hopefully not)
black screen, and you might get to see why the computer reboots itself.

Also..
To analyze the error, try the steps in: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers

Hello Jimmy I am still having problems with my pc rebooting on its on in
Guild Wars when I load in the game my pc is alright no lag or anything but
after like 3minutes my pc will reboot. I tried reinstalling my GFX drivers
and everything I do not get any error or report or nothing but a friend said
something about a minidump.dmp or something like that do you know how to do
it because if you do I can give you the files or whatever you need to find
out why my pc keeps rebooting for that game. I did not have this problem
with my other PC.

Hi SNOWFOX,

Your system is most likely restarting as a result of a STOP error.

To stop this behavior go to Control Panel / System / Advanced /
Click the Startup and Recovery Settings button / Uncheck the box
labelled "Automatically restart" under the System Failure section.

To analyze the error, try the steps in: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)

the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers

I have Unchecked the Automatically Restart but the PC still reboots. And I
do not get any errors when it comes back on.

Hi SNOWFOX,

That narrows things down quite a bit.. in fact the most likely culprit
would be your power supply. Sounds like it's not powerful enough.

Hardware issues can cause freezing, black screens and other
errors. Also, your drivers should always be kept up to date.

Try the following steps one at a time to try and resolve the issue.
I hope this helps. Please post back if you have any questions! :-)
