Computer freezes when pressing the shift keys alternating back and fourth
rapidily
What causes this? And how can I fix it?

Ummm... what does "alternating back and forth rapidly" mean?? And WHY
do you DO it?

Does this happen with a different keyboard? Try this and then post back
with the results. Is this behavior something you need to do while
playing a game? If yes, what game?

Then get another keyboard! Borrow one from a friend or go to the store
and buy one. You can get a basic keyboard for around $10 USD.

However, before you go to what is apparently an enormous effort for you
(perhaps you are wheelchair-bound or otherwise incapacitated) - after
you clean-installed Windows did you remember to install drivers for all
your hardware? If not, then that is your next step. Below is general
information about drivers. If it is too difficult for you, take the
machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local version
of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad) and have them sort it out.

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific
model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers
anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor. The older Aida32 is good for this, too although it might not
work on Vista.
