Computer doesn't recognise CD-R Drive!

I have tried unsintalling and resintalling it, but it says that it detects a
new drive, but cannot find the s/w for it...
I am using a P-III, 1.13 Ghz, 256 MB RAM, Win XP Pro...Nero doesn't find my
CD - R drive either.
CD-R drive is Samsung SW 224B.
Please help!!!
