computer died want to load XP on new computer

Can I reload XP on new computer? Original computer was
laptop and monitor broke. Will I be able to use CD to
load it onto new computer without problems?

Depends. Is the CD you have a Restore CD, or a full Retail version of
WindowsXP? If it is a Restore CD or a CD that came with the laptop, you
cannot install it on another computer.

Should be no problem *THIS* time. the next time you have to reinstall, you
won't have a qualifying previous version of windows.

Make sure you have all the Windows XP drivers for all of your hardware
"BEFORE" doing the upgrade. Windows does not have drivers for your
hardware, other than perhaps generic ones. Check the website of the laptop
manufacturer for drivers and also check to see if a BIOS upgrade is
necessary for the upgrade.
