Computer Descriptions are showing up in Computer Names field when browsing
the network from WINDOWS EXPLORER. This is causing issues in that for a
medium sized network we have come up with naming conventions for our systems.
Now XP has added a computer description and to top it off, is showing the
description in the name field in front of the computer name. So when
attempting to quickly locate resources by computer name it 's a hassle.
In Win Explorer XP, how do we make the Computer Name only show the computer
name and not the computer description? There already is a column that shows
the computer description, I don't understand why they are showing it in two
places?
