Some time a week or two back [possibly cold snap] The machine booted with the
voice error that disallowed anything to run.

I shut down and reseated the AIW card [several times]. [ATI AIW 9800 less than
6 months old] and got it to boot. I have both trend and Adaware and neither
reports any kind of virus or malware.

But almost daily since then, everything [mouse] freezes screen goes black.
doesn't affect TV sound so I suspect the pictures still there also. turn
monitor off and back on, and nothing at all. Just the boot up white squares
until everything connects.

Only way to restore is a cold reset. no BSD. just instant to black.

Maybe something is getting too hot and crashing. Just a guess.

I'm thinking not. Since an immediate reboot and alls well. No power ever turned
off. I might even guess the mouse is still working, just with instant black,
there's no way of knowing if it's still moving or doing anything.
