Computer crashes when on internet

I am running XP Pro with SP2 installed on a Time computer, AMD Athlon 600.
The computer crashes when on the net and displays a blue screen advising of a
physical memory dump. I then have to restart and scan disc before I can
continue. This problem can happen at any time or whilst visiting any web
site. Any suggested fixes would be greatly appreciated but would have to be
very easy to follow as I have a very limited knowledge of computers.
