Hello, I had a Dell laptop that overheated and all my mother board was
damaged. I lost all my files. However, I was able to retrieve some files
but I'm looking for the outlook contacts and notes that were made. Can
anyone tell me what the file extension would be (as in .xxx) ? Do you know
of any other way that I can retrieve those notes? Thanks

All Outlook data (mail, contacts, notes, appointments, etc) would be in a
..pst file.

Hi,

MS Outlook stores everything in PST file. You can search for the PST file with your systems in-built search option. As in your case, computer has been crashed, you need to perform file recovery and obtain the .PST file. Take Kernel for Windows to recover files from the partitions: http://www.nucleustechnologies.com/F...-Recovery.html

After having the PST file, import the file to MS Outlook to access the desired info. If not successful, then you need to have outlook recovery software: http://www.nucleustechnologies.com/M...-Recovery.html

It will recover the PST file contents and rebuild the inaccessible PST into working PST file.

Not necessarily. The mobo failing doesn't mean that the hard drive also
failed.

This is bad advice. If you have the PST, no import is necessary or advisable.

Only necessary if the PST contains errors that SCANPST.EXE can't handle. Your
advice sounds like a thinly-veiled attempt to sell something.
