When I start up my pc, I cannot browse my network until I have manually started the computer browser. The browser is set to automatically start, but this is obviously not happening. If it is, something is causing the browser to stop immediately. Any ideas on what is happening and how to rectify this problem?

Check your event log to see the error the service is getting on startup.

There are various errors in the event viewer where numerous services have not started. The common thread in all of them is "The pipe state is invalid" (Event IDs 7000, 7001). Various events then terminiate unexpectedly including DHCP Client service (Event IDs 7031, 7034)
I am running Windows XP Home on this particular computer
