suddenly my computer browser is not behaving properly. I
have defragmented, scanned for spyware and viruses, even
did a system restore. All my critical updates are
downloaded. I keep receiving the following Error
Message: COULD NOT START THE COMPUTER BROWSER SERVICE ON
LOCAL COMPUTER. ERROR 1068: THE DEPENDENCY SERVICE OR
GROUP FAILED TO START.

Any help would be appreciated! thanks.

Do you know what the Microsoft Browser is? It the program that manages the network. It existed long before web browsers were invented and has nothing to do with the internet. It requires both Server and Workstation services be started.

Type Using Services in Help.

Therein lies the problem, my Help and Support will not
load and I cannot access My Network Places. I get this
error message: WINDOWS CANNOT OPEN HELP AND SUPPORT
BECAUSE A SYSTEM SERVICE IS NOT RUNNING. TO FIX THE
PROBLEM, START THE SERVICE NAMED HELP AND SUPPORT. Yet,
it will not start. When I try to start a service, I
receive another error message: UNABLE TO OPEN THE SERVER
SERVICE. SERVER PERFORMANCE DATA WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
ERROR CODE RETURNED IS IN DATA DWORD 0. SEE HELP AND
SUPPORT CENTER AT
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Which btw,
was no help at all! Does anyone have an explanation or
solution, please!?
