after xp boots 10 to 20 seconds it slows way down. a few pop up boxes appear
that say "service.exe application failed to initialize properly" and black
boxes appear with the words up top that says "windows/system32/vssrvc.exe".

i also see some odd services that i cannot turn off.
by the time i get my norton to come up or adware to run, it is so slow it
wont do anything. can anyone suggest a way so i can get enough time to run my
norton to fix this virus.
thanks
brian

Probably caused by a virus/malware. Does it happen in Safe Mode too?

It sounds as if you're infected. Try a few of the free, online scans listed

Have you intentionally/knowingly installed MS Virtual Server 2005 R2?

Such as...?

And if you reboot into Safe Mode (with Networking)? (I assume "adware"
means Ad-Aware.)
