I somehow got myself into a lot of adware & spyware.

I have ran my scans over and over and I keep getting more and more.

I am also getting popups from the same advertisers consistenly.

And when I am on the internet I can not clik on emailed links or links
within a webpage, the internet stops responding?

Any help would be great!

Have you tried to restore your system?
I had that problem once and it worked for me.
Start->Run restore
After that you can choose a date before those problem start to happen.
