How can I change the computer name and the workgroup name
(that my computer belong to) using command line
interface ??
I tried to use Netdom, but you need to have your computer
in the domain enviroment and this is not my case, my
computers belong to a workgroup..

>It did not work....you are right. with the NET command

we have many options, but none of then work when you are
not in the domain enviroment. Remember, I do not have
domain controller, only workstations working in a
workgroup enviroment.

Victor,
Are you trying to modify remotely?
If local, with Admin authority, you can open the System
Group Icon on the Control Panel, then click on the
Computer Name Tab.
But, that's the GUI way.
I havn't found any API way yet, but perhaps checking in
some Windows Scripting manuals will provide more
information...
It might require hacking the registry to do it.
I'll keep looking,
