I have a Dell Dimension 2400 running XP Home Edition with an intergrated NIC. I have a Comcast modem directly conntected to the NIC. The connection was working fine for a while, then it stopped with no internet connection available. I used the vendor software on the computer to run diagnostics on the modem and it connected and everything was ok. I rebuilt the network connection as directly connected to the internet but no change. I connected a Linksys router to the computer and the cable modem. The indicator lights for the computer nic and the cable modem showed connected and talking to the router but I still could get no internet. I installed an additional linksys nic but the problem persists with it. At this point it looks like the integrated adapter and the cable modem are working properly but do connect to give me an internet connection
How do I further diagnose this problem and better yet what is the solution to this problem
Thanks
Gordon
