i thought i was the administrator but i cannot chane power schemes for my computer, it says access denied. what am i doing wrong?

Hi there,

Try these steps:

If you are using Windows XP Home then, you may try logging from safe mode.
You may type the user name as Administrator and leave the password blank and
click OK.

For Windows XP Pro, hit the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys twice in the WELCOME screen
and login as Administrator.
