A computer I work on is rebooting almost ever time you
double click on any application. What could the cause be?

Just about anything.
What is in the Event Viewer logs?
Start, Run and type:
eventvwr.msc
Look under Application and System.
Also, look for a Dr. Watson log.
If all logs are totally clear, I would suspect it's a
hardware problem like overheating RAM, bad RAM,
overheating CPU, overheating hard drive, bad power supply.
Run CHKDSK /R on your hard drive and defrag it before you
go spending money.
