cant find anywhere to find the answer to this.i've tried
all the usual sites all of xps support and everything i
can find.

im connecting two comps by wireless wifi and both are
windows xp with all updates.

as far as i can see all the settings are fine, they both
have the same ssid on same channel etc...

the cards are receiving and sending data and connection
comes up in tasktray as excellent link quality.

neither computer can see any files or folders and the
second computer, a laptop, cannot access the internet.

the files are set to share and the intenet connection is
set to shared as well.

i cant find any kind of firewall program that would block
the data so i am completely stummed as to the answer.

if anyone can come up with an answer for this one i would
be really thankful...
thanks in advance,
colly

Colly,

Please start by posting ipconfig information for each computer. Start - Run -
"ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and
paste into your next post.

From each computer:
Ping the other by name.
Ping the other by ip address.
Ping itself by name.
Ping itself by ip address.
Ping 127.0.0.1.
And report the results.

Cheers,
Chuck
