I was attempting to convert my USB harddrive from NTSF
compressed to uncompressed FAT 32. When I checked
uncompress in the properties box the drive evidently
decompressed a portion of the drive and then hung. Now I
am unable to access the drive. I fear the worst---Am I

Hi, Byron.

You DO know, of course, that Microsoft provides no way (short of a reformat)
to convert NTFS to FAT32. So, HOW were you trying to "convert" your HD to
FAT32? Were you using Partition Magic or some other third party program to
do the conversion? Or do you mean you were trying to COPY files from your
USB HD to some other HD? If you were trying to uncompress files on the HD,
preliminary to copying the files, the uncompressing process may have used up
all the space on that HD.
