I have Office 2000 PRO installed. I just upgraded Outlook 2000 to Outlook
2003. I only upgraded Outlook. When I reply or forward an HTML email, it
takes forever to write the message. It's like it pauses every 2-3 seconds
after I writing something before it displays it. I disabled norton. I run
outlook in safe mode. Nothing works. We are just testing Outlook 2003, but so
far the test has failed. Please help.

Click Start > Run > eventvwr and check out your application and system event
logs. See any red X's listed? This would indicate errors, you might be able
to trace something back to a specific event, or perhaps some failing hardware
or faulty software by the errors or notices listed here.

This is now a fairly well known problem but for some reason does not appear
to be well described on this forum.

Having read posts in the AumHa Forums and the Spybot - Search & Destroy Forum,
I have a little better understanding of the problem.

Although most of the discussion concerns the very slow typing in HTML, it
also appears to be relevant to the general slow Outlook problem.

The thread is of interest but look for the summary by RonaldReagan -
'General Re-Summary Of Problem'

The quick work around I have adopted is:
Open Outlook (still slow), go Tools/Options/Security, click OK and if by
magic Outlook is back to normal speed, unless you close it and open it again,
so I leave it open.

I hope this helps others with the same problem.
