Hope someone can shed some light and a solution to this issue for me. Had to
do a complete reinstall of my system about a week ago. After completing a
successful installation of both Windows XP Pro SP1 and Office 2003 (Full
suite) including FrontPage, I found the "Recent Pages, and Recent Web Sites"
selections on the File menu were not accessible (grayed out). I have
uninstalled and reinstalled Office and FrontPage updated everything but
still no access to these functions.

Would really appreciate a suggestion or solution to this as I use these
allot would be appreciated.

Have you opened any pages or sites since you did the reinstall?

They won't show up as "recent" unless you open them at least once. The history file was replaced by your re-install. Use File/Open Site and browse to the web. (assuming those files still exist)

Yes, I have opened pages and sites both locally stored and accessed my sites
on the web and nothing, Have shut down and reopened FrontPage and the
functions are still not available.

Weird to say the least. I'm sure it's a setting somewhere but lord knows
which one.

Just to be clear, if you open a site and then work on your pages, save and close FP, and then reopen
FP, these two options are not available?

Sound like you have a registry problem where FP is not storing this info.

See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;301691
Applies to FrontPage/Office 2003, as well as Office 2000.

You have to have opened files/webs for those "recent webs" or 'recent files"
history to list anything....

First let me thank everyone for responding, really appreciate it. The KB
article supplied by Ronx started me looking. I am running TweakUI, but not
the 2000 version, the newest release for XP and 2003 so the tabs and setting
aren't the same. Anyway, for all those using TUI, for future reference, the
setting that will affect every Office app, and probably others in your
system the way it did mine (by not showing any recently opened files in
"ANY" Office App, they will also make the "Recently used file list" setting
unavailable for change in all Office apps as well is.

TweakUI/Explore/Settings: Maintain Document History - if unchecked you will
not see any recently opened files and in the case of FP no Recently opened
Web Sites either.

Again thanks for all the insights, and assistance.

StanP
