response. This is in follow-up.

When I search the Object Browser, key word and Library "OWC11", which is the
Spreadsheet Web component, I see the XMLMAP and XMLMAPS classes and their
members appear to be available with that component. Would that mean I could
use XML related properties, methods and events with the Spreadsheet
component, or would the fact VB Script may not yet support* such XML
properties and methods preclude me from doing so?

My goal is to have users enter data into the component on the Web but
enforce validation just as you would with a non-web based Excel spreadsheet
using XML validation for data entry into Lists.

If it were possible to use the component with XML methods, properties, etc,
and I wanted an external schema establishing some of the validation rules,
such as governing formatting for fields and so forth, would that entail using
the Schema File as an Include File on the Web Server?

* I need to further research VBS to see if such support is available.

FYI, I've been posting these XML and web component questions to the wrong
