I purchased Vista Home Premium online and am using digitlal locker to load
it. checked the upgrade advisor and computer is fine to install vista (Dell
Inspiron E1705 ) when I try to install Vista I get all the way to entering
the reg.code and consistantly get and error report saying cannot open
required file C:/Documents and Settings .............. error code 0x80070026
make sure all files required are available ( they are ) What am I missing?
Do I need to change a setting? I will try to call Microsoft but too late
here. Thanks - T

Hi, I was having a similar problem with installing a program today... If you
have the means to locating the file, try searching for it, because in Vista,
unlike XP I noticed the C:/Documents and Settings changed to
C:/user/documents and settings, (notice the "user"). I hope this helps.

Steve,

I am having the exact same problem as Terry. I have checked to ensure the
required file (install.wim) is in the required location. Not quite sure I
understand your sugestion. Can you please elaborate?
