Bear with me - this may be too lengthy but I think important for whoever can
help me....please. This happened to me last month and lasted for 7 days and
is now happening again. On my home page in ie6, the yellow triangle in the
task bar is again appearing (error on page). My junkmail box is stuck - I
cannot delete any mail from this inbox. If I move it though to another area
(drafts, inbox, etc.), from there I am then able to delete it. It appears to
be giving me the option to delete with the window opening asking me if I want
future email from these addresses to go into my junk email in the future BUT
it's not deleting anything. Exactly the same problem I'm having now, I had
last month and when I was on the phone with msn tech. support, they had me
reinstalling outlook xprs, reconfiguring my options in ie tools, resetting
everything but nothing helped then and nothing is helping now. I've run
every single viral, adware, spyware detector, did system restore, check
disks, deleted temp files (and offline), cookies, and nothing is helping.
msn told me I'd have to reinstall my operating system???? A very costly
decision when all of a sudden, the problem then went away. As well, I've been
noticing again that o.e. will show "unable to connect to server, cannot
download messages"....something like when I open the program but my messages
are getting downloaded in oe. I don't know if this is significant but in ie,
the error code reads "problems with web page might prevent it from being
displayed or functioning properly." Line: 172, Char: 1, Error: 'tagname' is
null or not an object, code: 0, url:
http://by107fd.bay107.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/hotmail?

IF YOU HAVEN'T FALLEN ASLEEP FROM THIS POST, CAN YOU HELP ME??????

Humble and begging.....Sandra

Some things are not clear:
Are you using IE or OE for mail?
If it is OE is it a POP3, IMAP or HTTP (Hotmail or MSN) account.
What is the _complete_ error message?
What is your IE version?
What is your OE version?

Hi Frank. Thank you for replying to my issue here.

I'm using both IE6 (msn account) and OE6 (HTTP) for mail.
The error message in oe (which doesn't always appear and doesn't prevent the
messages from being download), reads
"Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account:
'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata', Server:
'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata', Protocol: HTTPMail,
Server Response: 'Service Unavailable', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 122, Error Number: 0x800CCCF0"

Thanks again, Sandra

All I know about the HTTP servers is that they're consantly having on and
off problems.
