I need either the complete 6.0 sp1 explorer download for a Win 98SE machine
that is not internet connected or a copy of 5.5. The only thing I can find
is the installer. Thanks Don

http://helpdesk.uvic.ca/software/dow...s/msiexpl.html
http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/32bit/

These are full version self-extracting .exe files. Download the file and
burn it to a CD. On the target computer, copy the file into a new, empty
folder. Click on it to extract it's contents into that folder. Then find
the ie6setup.exe or ie55setup.exe file (depending on the version you
downloaded) to start the setup.

When installing IE, it's best to first do a power-off reboot, then disable
any anti-virus program you may have running, then do a CTRL+ALT+DEL and End
Task on everything on the list except (Windows) Explorer and Systray. Then
try your install again. This method will help prevent any program you may
have running in the background, and the anti-virus software, from
interfering with the install of IE. Some AV software just plain messes up
an install of IE, and other programs may be using a file that IE needs to
update/replace/remove.
