Comparing a user's document against an ideal answer document

I've been asked to find a way of comparing a Word document with an
'ideal answer' document, in order to make a critical assessment of the
difference between the two.

The idea is that the client supplies a Word document to an applicant,
who is asked to correct various errors and inconsistencies in the
document (spelling, punctuation, grammar, figures in tables, legends
of graphs, etc.). The client then wishes to compare the applicant's
corrected document with an ideal answer document, so as to assess the
accuracy of the applicant's corrections.

Word's standard comparison features can highlight differences, but
we're looking for something that will make more specific checks – so
that, for example, we can check that all of the deliberate spelling
errors in the source document have been corrected, or that all of the
incorrect table data has been left untouched.

I have taken a look at Diff Doc, which offers some useful reports but
still isn't fit for our purposes.

Do you know of any software that might be able to help us achieve our
aim?
