Depending on what you want..

Open a command prompt and type in:

comp /?

OR

fc /?

One of those two command lines.

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately
responsible for your actions/problems/solutions. Know what you are
getting into before you jump in with both feet.

Hi

Microsoft's Windiff.exe is an option.

It is to be found on a Win2k/WinXP CD, in the Support Tools

Install "Support Tools" by starting suptools.msi from
<cd-drive>\Support\Tools\

Also note that there is updated versions of Support Tools available:

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Support Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...1-ba8011fabf38

After the install, you will find Windiff.exe in
%ProgramFiles%\Support Tools\

Two other free file/folder difference analysis tools:

CSDIFF

FCU File-Compare Utility

You may want to check our Compare It from http://www.grigsoft.com/, or
WinMerge (winmerge.sf.net) for similar free solution.
