CompareString on SP4

hi

One of my customer recently upgrade his system to W2k SP4. After the
ugprade, my program run much slower, especially running multi-threads on
multi-CPU machine. The same problem doesn't occur on W2k SP3 nor
Windows2003 Server.

When I broke the program in the debugger, I found most of the threads are
waiting on CompareString. Seems like SP4 has changed CompareString to make
it depend on a global lock . Any one know if it is true? If so, how to
work around it?
