Someone in my office asked if he could use this feature, but also use it so
that both screens do NOT scroll at the same time. We know that he could open
two documents and fiddle with the sizing so that they both appear the same
size and are side by side. What would be easier is if he could use the side
by side feature, but be able to control both side individually. He needs to
block and copy from one doc to another, not necessarily compare the two
documents.

When you compare side by side, there will be a small toolbar with two
buttons, one of which is for synchronous scrolling, which is on by default.
Click it to turn it off.
