When HP recalled some batteries recently, I tried to remove mine from the 3
year old laptop, but the sliding lock is frozen in position, preventing the
removal.
I've removed the battery when I increased my Memory Module some time ago.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gerry

Gerry,
I had a similar problem with 2 of the HP's at work. On one of them, I had to
push the battery in hard and, while holding it in, slide the lock open. The
other one, I had to push the battery in and have a friend tap the slide open
with a wide-bladed screwdriver. That battery had leaked, or had gotten
condensation in the latch area. New batteries worked fine, though, and a
little WD-40 on the mechanism cleaned it up well.
