I am trying to run the XP Home system recovery on a Compaq Presari
6000, with the 5-cd recovery kit that came with it, and the (...
computer won't accept the second cd, saying it is not the right one.
think the cd may be scratched, but can't really see one, so am open fo

You need to contact Compaq/HP and order new Recovery CDs.
