Hi,

I have a Compaq Evo T20 which runs's CE. I have seen the XPe Binary
download on the HP website and I am wondering what it is. Does anyone
know?
I am guessing that it is an embedded version of Windows XP for a thin
client. If it is, will it fit on my T20 which only has 32mb of RAM.
It may seem a bit dumb to ask but i know very little about these thin
clients.

TIA

AFAIK, HP images for Compaq Evo T20 require 128M or 256M RAM (I've seen only
two) so you will probably need to exchange your Evo T20 model by the one
suitable for XPe.

Afaik,

CE works for lesser memory requirements in thinclients while XPe
takes more and thts why the thin clients and flash memories are
designed in such a manner ,So as KM says you might need to look out
for another unit suggested by HP.

You can upgrade your T20 with SORAM and FLASH-RAM to 256/256 (HOWTO:
http://h200006.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/s...01_rev1_us.pdf),
so you can upload the new binary.

To do this, you should use the programm "Netxfer" from HP
(http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi...oad/16129.html)
"to replace the entire binary image stored in flash on an Evo T20 or
T30 with a new image".

But keep in mind, you have to own a license of WXPe to run it on your
Evo T20.

Hope this would help you.
