I've been having countless problems with my Evo, the most
recent is that my computer freezes at random intervals,
with no discernible pattern. Ctrl+alt+delete won't do
anything, keyboard is completely frozen, & the mouse as
well. I have to manually restart. Then it will be fine
for some time. Is there any known cause for this?

Look for overheating, check fans, including the one on the CPU itself. Also
check for bad memory modules.

Try to find out if a program is causing memoryconflicts...
