Hi, I hope someone in this group can help with a problem i;m having with my
A 1000. After installing a new cart. the control panel displays add left
cart, which is the color cart. When the computer boots ups a window says no
ink cart. installed, when you try to print a windows says cart. not inst.
correctly. You can click ok and it will then print out in black, can't get
it to print in color. I have tried the Compaq website and mailed their
people with no help except to call the toll free # which i did and was told
to call their tech line for 40.00. Which i didn't do. Have been to their
communities section and it appears this is a common problem going by the #
of people writing with the same problem but can't see there answers on the
site where it says they were answ. by experts. I even tried unplugging it
for 24 hrs. to see if maybe a cap. was holding a charge on the rom with no
results. If antone can give me any ideas and help on this or tell me a site
i can go to to get it fixed it would be greatly appreciated as i can't
afford the 40.00 fee to talk to one of there techs, seems by this problem
being so common they would have a fix for it on their site. I am running
Windows ME WITH A 1200 CPU and the printer had always worked fine since i
