My company is currently using Windows XPE on a "normal" PC that is all
neatly tucked into the device. Our next product needs something a
little more robust and Compact PCI was brought up. I've found some
information out there but really, I have no idea where to begin. Do
Compact PCI platforms support Windows XPE? And where can I find out
about Compact PCI, especially with regards to Windows XPE?

XPE=XP Pro... if it works in XP Pro, you can make it work in XPE... may take
a little bit, but it's do-able... just make sure the CPCI host blades you
are looking at have windows XP driver support.

XPe supports the full CompactPCI hot swap.
