I am developing an application using compact framework. This
application uses Symbol PPT 2800 and it is required to scan barcode
and update the Database using web services. To be able to scan barcode
Symbol provides a ‘Scan control' that can be used in embedded Visual
tools. I want to use compact framework for development (not embedded
tools). My question is ..1 )Is it possible at all to use CF for
barcode scanning application for this model of symbol scanner. 2) I
looked at symbol's website and found SDK available for embedded tools
but nothing compact framework. Any idea where can I get SDK for CF?

Any pointers or help is appreciated.

Look for Symbol Mobility .NET Toolkit on Symbol DevZone site. It contains CF
libraries for bar code scanner, magstripe reader etc.
