Hi,
we are using a Compact Flash to IDE Adapter (PLUG-IN Electronics) to
configure our CF Cards. This Adapter works fine with Pretec CFC01GCS8
(fixed). Now we use Pretec CFG01GARH. The Adapter works fine until we fixed
the CF Card. We get an error on BIOS boot screen, HARD DISK FAIL. I have
tested some other CF Cards and it seems that the Adapter have a problem with
some fixed CF Cards.
Do you know an Adapter that don't have problems with fixed CF Cards?

Try these guys:

CFADPT comes in several versions.

I've played with several types, this seems to be the least troublesom so
far.

Recently, I've had problems with Transcend CF cards. They reportedly are
tracing it back to the vendor in Taiwan. I believe that there is only a
couple of CF manufacturers and they just rebrand them so even though you use
Pretec, you may be affected by what is going on in with Transcend. Transcend
is switching me to another faster unit to try.
