Hi all,

Seems everytime I stop recording for a while I have to reconfigure something
when I decide to voice record again. ugh

So my problem now is that I can record thru my mic, but I cannot hear thru
the headphones or speakers while I am recording. Yet the comp records it and
plays the recording back fine. I just can't hear what I am recording thru
the headphones. But everything I record, plays back fine? I can't figure
out where the problem is.

When I troubleshoot, everything checks out fine.

You would need the sound card software that provides the capablity to
"Record what you hear". What you describe is bog standard normal.

Since you have headphones, the feedback probably won't cause you to
record your voice coming from your speakers. So you can do the following:

- Double-click the speaker icon in the Notification area.

- Click Options, Properties, Playback, select Microphone to add it to
the Playback list.

- Click OK, make sure the Mic isn't muted, and exit the Sound Control
applet.

Basically that'll give you a full duplex rather than half-duplex setup.
I hope this will work for you.

Not sure you would want to hear your voice as you are recording it (if I
understand what you want to do).

By default, any sound coming out of the speakers while you were using a mic
would be recorded, which you wouldn't want. Maybe you could go through
line-in instead?

It will likely put you off your speech involuntarily.
