I have an hp pavilion 7935 with a Windows XP operating
system. For some reason, recently, the cd-rom only works
when the computer is loading Windows, and a little bit
after XP is finished loading. After that, if i look
in "my computer" there isn't even a d:\ listed. It will
only have the hard drive, and the floppy disk drive. At
that point, the cd-rom doesn't respond at all. It
doesn't even open if I press the button right on the
tower. The only thing I can think of, is that the
computer had a virus recently, and the anti-virus
software may have deleted something that was necessary to
the cd-rom functioning. I tried to use the system
recovery cd's, but the cd-rom doesn't work long enough to
do anything with them. Well, any help would be much
appreciated. Thanks in advance.
