Communicator.exe or Office.exe running 100% CPU?

Hi there
I am not sure whether this is the correct place to write this (please don't
flame... ) - however, I have an outlook/Microsoft Communicator related
problem. I am on a brand new IBM thinkpad recently installed by the IT guys
here at work. The installation comes with Office 2003 and Communicator 2005
preinstalled.

My problem is this; after I launch my machine and have both applications
open, for some reason communicator starts running 100% of my CPU power (I
cannot seem to locate the exact time when the 100% takes effect, but I think
it is related to an arriving email in outlook). The communicator shares
Microsoft Office Outlokk as the personal information manager, and it seems
that if I tick this off, the Communicator goes to 0% CPU... but then after
awhile Outlook goes to 100%. My "own" IT people cannot seem to be able to
pinpoint the problem... And I am about to give up and reformat again.

I have a feeling that it might be Google Desktop Search that is causing the
problem - however uninstalling it has not corrected the problem.... Can
anyone help?
