We need to link our PC to a chemical balance and read the
mass from the balance into excell. can this be done? if
so, what are the basic require to do it?

1. Balance with RS232 serial output.
2. Serial cable.
3. Programming on a PC to monitor the serial port and transfer the data to
Excel.

Those are the basics, the specifics will require a fair amount of malice and
aforethought.

Seems to me he posted in the right area. He said "We need to link our PC to
a chemical balance and read the
mass from the balance into excell. can this be done? " I believe linking a
pc to the balance would fall into the hardware catagory. Like perhaps
connecting to and monitoring a serial port or even a game port. Oh well,
back to your tv show.
