Ny command window has been working fine.

Now whan I click on the command window whether from the menu or from a
shortcut my screeen goes black and there is no cursor. No response to any
keys.
I have to do ctr-alt-del to get task manager to end the process and be able
to get back to my desktop. Any hints as to what is causng this and how to
fix it?
Any clues are appreciated.

Try running the Command Prompt by going to Start >> Run >> type "cmd" and
click OK.

Thank you for your reply.
I tried running the cmd.exe from the run menu item.
I get the same behavior: blak screen, no response and i have to end program
with the task manager to et back to the desktop.

Any other ideas? suggestions? troubleshootng tips?
