Can someone help me please. Every time i try to use a program that uses the
command prompt, the cmd opens up for a fraction of a second then closes. How
can I make this not happen. Thanks!

Are you opening a command prompt first and then typing or pasting your
commands?

Start | Run | Type: cmd | Click OK |
Then type your commands.

Try
Start | Run | Type: cmd.exe | Click OK |

Try
Start | Run | Type: %windir%\system32\cmd.exe | Click OK |

You may have malware.

UPDATE your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

UPDATE whatever anti-spyware applications that you have and run a full
system scan with each one.

You might want to start in Safe Mode to run your antivirus and anti-spyware
software.

Running a full system antivirus scan or anti-spyware scan in Safe Mode can
be a good idea. Some viruses and other malware like to conceal themselves
in areas Windows protects while using them. Safe mode will prevent those
applications access and therefore unprotect the viruses or other malware
allowing for easier removal.

Well, it works when I open the command prompt from "Run" but when I open it
from another source that runs in the CMD it opens and automatically closes.

Yes, that's exactly the way it's supposed to work. If you want the CLI
to remain open after that other source has finished, you'll need to
modify the programming of that source to leave the CLI open.
