Is there a something I can run from a command line to reboot a computer? We
are a small non-profit that has a Win2000 computer we are using as a file
server and run a backup to a tape drive. The backup crashes too often and I
think it is because all the resources are used to run the backup. A reboot
should help.

Thanks!!

Go to www.sysinternals.com and get "PSShutdown", it is in the PSTools
section. Copy it to your System32 folder and type "psshutdown /?" at a
command prompt. HTH.

Do I need the Resource Kit or will the command line work? Where can I get
the resource kit if needed?

Hi

You would need to buy the resource kit to get hold of shutdown.exe.

Take a look at PsShutdown.exe in the free PsTools suite instead (it is a better
utility as well):
